Call recording
A recording available only when the process and permissions require it.
Discuss your deploymentPBXCenter can enable recording inside selected call flows. Authorized administrators play or download material through a protected API and manage retention without exposing server file paths.

01Recording scope
Recording is a visible flow decision, not a hidden global switch
Administrators identify where recording belongs in the call journey. Scope can then follow a number, team and purpose instead of silently capturing every conversation in the environment.
- 01The flow shows whether recording is active on a particular route.
- 02An announcement can be placed before the relevant conversation begins.
- 03Policy changes require the route and prompt to be tested again.
02Access
Playback and download require a separate permission
Recordings are not public files. The panel uses a protected API while roles restrict who can play, download or remove material under the organization's own procedure.
- 01Employee accounts do not automatically gain archive administration.
- 02Call history preserves the recording's operational context.
- 03Maintenance operations remain separate from the daily workspace.
03Retention and copies
Storage duration must match the company policy
PBXCenter supports recording retention and a controlled backup process. A backup should not silently extend the life of call data beyond the purpose defined by the organization.
- 01Retention is an administrative setting that should be documented.
- 02Backup packages have a protected import and restore procedure.
- 03A recovery test proves more than a completed-backup indicator.
FAQ
Direct answers before the conversation.
Does PBXCenter automatically make recording legally compliant?
No. The system provides technical controls, while the organization determines legal basis, purpose, caller notice, authorized users and a suitable retention period.
Can every employee listen to recordings?
Not by default. Access belongs to the role model and should only be granted to people who need recordings for the agreed process.

Deployment for your company
Define recording scope, access and retention before launch.
List the call types, roles that need playback and expected storage period. That provides a practical basis for the technical design.
